This hurricane heading our way.
The replacement trees after the 1987 storm (some of which I planted, actually) are just big enough now to be blown down. Makes you feel a bit insignificant in the long term.

Enquiry to Irish Rail in the wake of the hurricane made me chuckle

Very weird sky. Around Brentwood way earlier and the only way I can describe it was like a total eclipse. Very eerie.

In the true traditions of Michael Fish the BBC online weather service is showing full bright sunshine for Mid Sussex between 3 and 6pm today and yet it's as dark as you can get without it actually being,, er dark. Surely it is time to put these buffoons out of their misery and use the money on a service that actually works!!!

Dark sky seems to be passing here in Mayfair. Lighter skies coming in from the West. Very odd for such an odd and angry looking sky to pass without a down pour or anything???
